I got robbed big time 5 days ago. My restored Scout is gone along with tools, welder, plazma cutter, etc.

They tried to take my built 95 Ranger by hammering out the ignition switch. Thats as far as they got but now I'm having to fix this mess. Now when I drive it the 4X4 dash lights come on and off and I can hear and feel the tranny or transfercase engaging. This rig also has the electric 4X4 switch on the dash and automatic hubs. I pulled the 4X4 fuse in hope that would make it drivable but I still have the problem. It's as if someone is playing with the 4X4 high/low switch while I'm driving. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

behind the stereo where all the wires are and your 4x4 switch there is a black box connected to it. completely take it out. that is the sensor. my sensor went out about 6 months ago and 4x4 wouldnt work for nothin. try that.

that blows hardcore i hope u filed a police report

Man that sucks...it always made me wonder why the hell people feel the need to steal and do things like that....I mean you probably worked hard for all that stuff and some lazy asshole, who doesn't want to work for anything, decides to steal an honest persons shit. I have no idea why they would try hammering the ignition there is a way easier way....The only thing I can think of ( not knowing the extent of the damage of the ignition or any wires around it) is to dissconnect the plug to the shift motor(doesn't require digging in the dash). That way it won't shift until you can figure out whats going on with it. My guess is they shorted out a wire or something.... Hope they catch them....Any leads?

Around here stuff doesn't disappear.
The other side of the turnpike bad shit happens,
Families that moved out of NJ and NY to avoid "gang problems"
and managed to bring the gang members (their children) with
them have lots of problems.

On this side of the turnpike the most popular anti-theft device is an
autoloading rifle.

The problems over there tend to stay over there.

+1 for AllanD, nothing says get away from my shit like a shotgun getting pumped!

Yeah, there is something that says it better, a burst of automatic
weapons fire when the rifle in question is loaded with 100% tracers :o

Oh and did I mention that warning shots are frowned upon... you never know where warning shots will come down.

lol. If you try and steal somebodies vehicle and they have a a shotty or auto then your stupid for even trying. Steal at your own risk IMO. It should be legal to do whatever you have to to prevent somebody from jacking your shit. That can mean beating the crap out of him, a weapon if its necessary. I had someone break into my truck and steal a bunch of stuff a few months ago. If I would have only witnessed it I could of seen myself just punching him till I had nothing left in me to even lift my arm another time. Scum of the earth aint gonna get away with it with me if theres something I can do to prevent it.

Instructions for shovel:

1)Dig deep hole
2)Put anything that annoys you into hole
3)Put dirt back into hole.

If they really annoy you, then you simply don't kill them first.

I wouldn't shoot anyone for stealing my truck, though if I caught them trying I would probably inflick a few incidental bangs and bruises while restraining them for the sheriff deputies.

But if you come into my house I have lots of pent up rage and frustration I've been packing down in my guts for years that I would be more than happy to unleash on you. With all the mess and damage I would probably have to move.

For those adverse to violence, I have the perfect punishment for the slimeball caught damaging your truck while trying to steal it. Lock him in a bay with the damaged truck, a donor vehicle, and reference manuals until he learns enough through trail and error and reading to repair the damage he caused.

NAH.... The beating method usually works the best. And even then it takes 7 or 8 beatings for it to soak in.........

Not only do I have no problem shooting someone who would try to steal my truck
I'd have no problem shooting up my own truck as they tried to get away.

Hide behind something? I know how to shoot through things, you can run and you can hide but if you do you'll just die tired and hidden.
