Please help For the life of me I cannot locate the sending unit for the temp gauge. This on a 91 4X4 4 banger engine.

It should be at the back of the intake manifold...little black connector with the wires sticking out the back towards the firewall...usually just clips on below the hose that runs from the heater box to the intake...trace the hose and you should find the sender unit...

Actually the coolant sensor for your guage will be on the drivers side of the motor behind and above the oil filter- just behind the fuel lines. It has 1 wire going to it. You can not even see it when looking in the engine. You may be able to see it from underneath- cna not remember. I just felt around until I felt mine. I just changed my sender today so I am positive it is there. My brothers has an 89 and his is in the same place. Oh sorry mine is a 91 also if that helps.
