Hey Guys,

So I've only got one key & it's not even original.
So I know that my truck shows the Theft light, does that mean that my truck would've originally gone with a key fob to disengage the alarm or whatever the theft does?

My windows are manual & I'm assuming the doors are only manual also. Would this key fob just work the alarm /whatever?

Can I get a fob & have it programed?

It's si much fun putting things back to spec [emoji16]

The theft light is just part of the PATS security system on all rangers after I believe 98. It's just a tranceiver and transponder system that disables the ignition if you try to use a key without the correct transponder. There is no actual alarm system or fob to turn it on or off.

I am confused on why you have to assume that you have manual or power doors. You already said you have manual windows. So do you not know if you have power locks or not?

I guess I don't lol, just realized what am I thinking! There's no power door switch, so how could it be automatic. Ugh haven't dealt with something without power for so long don't even realize what I'm supposed to not be seeing there

It happens.

I remember one time a kid I was working with did a used car check on a 95 F-150, wrote that it needed AC diag because the AC didn't work.

It got kicked to me for the AC work, I go it, no AC on the controls, opened the hood, not AC stuff under the hood, so I rather quickly determined it didn't have AC. This guy was young enough that the concept of no AC in a vehicle was completely foreign to him.

Haha funny stuff. Senior moment & not senior [emoji16]
