The TRS Ranger is going to be FOR SALE

If I bought it and wheeled it.....Id be banned.lol

I'll turn my focus back towards building up Vanessa's Ranger to be our replacement for TRS-2.

I take that to mean: Keep an eye open for a TRS-3 build thread as soon as financially reasonable. :secret:

And hopefully someone in the community can buy TRS-2.

I'll throw my name in the hat since I offered to make a save the TRS 2 fund/thread...

SVT

Jim responded as I suspected he would, but there's no law against charity amongst people...I say let's do it anyway, just to show 'em!

If I may, I'd like to officially nominate RangerSVT to serve as the collection point of contact for the Save TRS-2 from the IRS Fund Drive, since he has a long history here and has a 100% positive feedback score.

Anyone second it?

No...

It's time to sell the truck, pay off debt, and move forward.

If someone wants to help out they can:

A) Buy TRS-2
B) Get a Premium Membership

Ok...FINE!!!! I don't have enough in petty cash right now to buy TRS-2, but I can handle a premium membership. After payday ima get a decal, too. Do those help?

You're a stand up guy, Jim. Hang in there! And thanks for TRS!

Well crap.

My O/D light is flashing, and when I scanned the codes I got:

P0743 - Torque converter clutch
P0750 - Shift Solenoid A
P0760 - Shift Solenoid C
P1445 - Manufacturer Control (Purge Flow Sensor Circuit High Input)

The motor had a tag that said it was from a 96 Explorer, but all the connections plugged together. I'm wondering if there is a difference in the wiring in the harness on the Explorer motor vs the Ranger motor?

Double check that none of the harness is pinched between the bell housing and the engine...the PO of my 95 had done that and I chased O2 codes for months before I found 7 pinched wires on the top of the bell housing...

I have a bad feeling the pin outs for a 96 Explorer and 96 Ranger are different. I just need to confirm it.

Fixed it.

I switched out the harness for the original Ranger harness. The P1445 went away, but I still had P0743, P0750, P0760 and picked up P0755.

I started checking the wiring and when I felt the plug on the side of the transmission, it felt slightly loose and I pushed it in more. Started it up and the codes were gone.

Thank God it was just a connection.

I couldn't resist the urge to drive up the embankment of the farmers field next to me. I've always loved what a tank this thing is.

So now I just have to detail it, make sure everything is working, and find a new home for it.

Getting it cleaned up and ready to list.

Took the TRS logo off the bedside.
