Dumb question but the timming belt should always be turning as well as the crankshaft and serpitine belt when the engine is turning over to start Right?

If timeing belt is not turning but the main serpintine crankshaft belt is will the spark plugs still give a spark?

iM NOT GETTING A SPARK ON LEFT SIDE AT ALL TO START ENGINE AND JUST NOW REALIZING THAT WHEN IT CRANKS OVER TO START THE TIMEING BELT IS NOT TURNING?

Yes, the timing belt should be turning if the crankshaft is turning. However, if the timing belt is truly not moving, you would see many more symptoms than just spark failure on one bank. Are you sure you're actually looking at the timing belt?

Spott

YES it is absolutely the timming belt that i am looking at the regular belt has allways turned biut when i pryed back the timeing belt cover and marked the timing belt then turned engine over to start it did not move at all and is loose. will a non turning timeing belt cause there to be no spark at plugs? i have checked and know that

1 coil is good
2 ICM or DIS is tested and good
3 and the Crank position sensor is sending both signals correctly
also fuel and spark plugs not an issue.
just no spark

so will the non moving timing belt cause no spark to plugs?

YES, timing belt not turning almost always causes no spark

most engines reference the cam for spark. if the cam isn't turning....it isn't sparking

sounds to me that you will be needing a new timing belt

Ah, OK...I replied to your other thread...looks like you need a new timing belt if the cam is not turning when you crank the engine...

It is an easy fix...and relatively inexpensive...

Yep you have a broken timing belt and likely a broken crank sensor as a result

I checked the voltages comming out of the CPS crank shaft position sensor they both checked out ok 12volts each then fluctuate when manually turning crankshaft by hand.

This means the CPS is working right?

i was told at a parts store that either it will send both signals or it wont

meaning it is working or is not

no inbetween????

Yes normally either good or bad. At this point you need to replace the timing belt and then you'll be able to see if the crank sensor is damaged. Even with a broken timing belt you should have spark.
