The Time Has Finally Come for SVT

Don't forget to "reset" the IAC, or you will never keep her running! :icon_surprised:

That's...........gonna..............be...........awesome!

BTW, Fill cap and tubes are ordered and I found a nice chunk of aluminum tube at work. I'm gonna add about an inch and a half to the overall height. Oh, and this tube is 1/4" wall and very, very thread tap-able material!

SWEET!!!! I'll measure tomorrow and let you know how much over stock I have, I'd like to have as much capacity as I can!! Thanks again, Paul :icon_thumby:

Well, after being out of town for a week or so, I finally got back to my shop...Today I got the radiator re-situated for more room as my cooling fans came in today, but the lower fan needed more clearance, its tight, but I got em both in. I also got my power steering lines in...For now I went with the stock setup so I can docuement it this way for the swap, but I will be adding hydro boost very soon as well as a power steering filter, cooler, and larger resevior being custom made by Iron Ranger, and shortly after that I'll be adding hydro ram assist:yahoo: Tomorrow the lower radiator hose should be here, and I'll be picking up a temp coolant sensor to operate the fans....As of right now after I get the lower hose on and the rad filled I will be able to take her out for her first test drive!! Stay Tuned:icon_thumby:

usually use a truck hose on the 302 trucks with ford style radiators.

i modify the core supports to put the rad forward as possible. ac is a bitch and requires the flat fan motors. there are different taurus fans. i have used many types of fans....and pretty much let the final locations of things dictate which fan to use.

the ford contour and intech lincoln fans are my favorites.

the summit radiators are my favorites. fan and radiator combos are under 200 bux for new summit rad and junkyard fan for me. hard to beat.

i have been wanting ac, and may actually put the condenser under the bed. have done that for others in the past....as my diesel takes up a wee bit more room then my 302.

of course setup is key...body lift and engine placement are HUGE variables with swaps.

for the experienced swapping in a day is possible....easily so depending needs.

but, thats after two weeks of planning

Thanks for your tips, Bobby :icon_thumby: I set out to do this swap in a day, but I didn't take into consideration that the TTB frame was much different than the SALA frame. I have done swaps before, but I wanted a factory looking setup and I liked the idea of using the explorer motor. Everything as far as electronics are plug and play, I only had to rewire the altenator harness, but mostly out of choice...I'm doing a full writeup on it and hopefully it will be submitted to the tech library so others can use this info:icon_thumby:
