Ok so I was the one who had blown up my 2.5 motor in my 98 ranger and was going to be switching to a 2.3. So with much problems and headache I got it done the other day and its running really good. Had to drill and tap the block for the water pump as well as change the bottom bracket for the crank position sensor. I wasn't able to put the cam sensor on this one because the changes to the oil pump set up. The thermostat housing had to be drilled out for larger bolts because this block had those holes ready. I also had to change out the alternator bracket as well as the power steering brackets. Due to the changes in the brackets I had to use the 98 water pump and the little spout that comes out of there had to be cut and welded which is always fun. But long story short it is possible and although it probably wasn't the best option it was the cheapest and it got me back on the road so I can keep working.

It might be information someone else needs some day...:)
