The Super Camper Special

I've never, ever seen those stretched wheel base trucks in Canada. Very cool .

I just bought a 1973 super camper special myself. I too thought it was a pretty cool truck and haven't seen any others on the road. Mine needs a bit of tlc but can't wait to start the project. Does anyone have any advice on where to find parts (new, used or aftermarket) ? Thanks

Try LMC or dennis carpenter for new. You can try junk yards, or Ebay for used. I also have used stuff.

Thanks, will give those a try. I've also been looking for a repair manual that has a complete rundown/teardown of the super camper special. Haynes has one for 73 thru 79 full size trucks and bronco but is there one for the super camper special alone? Thanks for all the help guys, still in the learning process.

I don't know if there is on just for the scs. Your best bet would be to look on Ebay and see if anyone has a factory Ford manual.

It sucks to park. lol. If it didn't have power steering I don't think I would have bought it...

try parking a LWB highboy lol. mines manual steering by the way

Got a tail gate for it from pick a part this morning. $34.99. :D

New user, i just pulled my manifolds today, installing headers tomorrow. I have factory ac, not working. Why do i read that i gotta pull the sway some places, and how hard is it to do with the a/c unit on the firewall?

I had a 75 3/4 ton 4x4 that had a tool box where your spare is and also had a 76 3/4 ton camper special.

thats a awsome truck! ive seen a few with that door panel on the box, never seen it removed before, i assume it takes away a little from bed space inside the box? id hate to have to feed that beast every day, but that was certianally a steal!
