Have many people on this site used this product to fix there fail prone electric trans case motor.. never heard of the product until saw advertised on this site... sounds like cheap fix if works good... any info would be appreciated...:icon_thumby:

I put one on my '93 Explorer. It worked fine, very positive. The only problem is the time you need to shift to 4wd it is usually muddy/snowy and you need to carry a small sheet of plastic. I can almost reach it without getting under the truck but not quite.

I havent bought one yet. But I researched them thoroughly . It has spring loaded detents for a positive shift. They look like a well made unit.
If you have manual hubs, it is just one more stop going around to lock in 4wd.

Being a cheap SOB, I have a pair of vise grips safety wired in place. It takes a little fiddling to get into 4 wheel high. Right now, I am running in 4 wheel high with the hubs unlocked. :D

It'd be great if one could still get a hold of manual shift linkages...

Going from 2 to 4hi isn't a pain with the electric shift, and works fine, but shifting into and out of low is a pain for me. 4hi is pretty much useless for me (lack of gearing), but low is great. Feel like an idiot when it takes a whole minute to get out of 4low after a deep puddle or crawling something...

I've read that some guys have cut trap doors into their floors with hinges, snap-hasp whatchamacallit, and caulk beads to seal. Pop it open and it's just like a manual T-case. A little bit of effort but if done properly, it should work flawlessly.

Sorry, double post.

I don't think a manual t-case is that expensive, $100 at the local yards + a couple more for the linkage. IMO that is the best fix for the problem, swapping them is pretty easy...

My wheeler is still rocking its original e shift T case and shift motor....never given me an issue.

I will not own a vehicle with an electric 4wd system. I find getting out to lock the hubs a small price to pay for knowing that when I put it in 4wd, it will be in 4wd.

I found out that electric shift t/case is FINE.. it's the auto hubs you have to worry about. So just put manual hubs on it and you're good usually. I've noticed that with my B2. My electric t/case has never let me down (other than once and it got stuck in 4wd, but it was the button on the roof, not the shift motor). Of course then I still had auto hubs and couldn't just unlock the hubs...so once again, just get manual hubs and you're good.

I wish I could find it again, but I found a think once on Explorer forum where someone made a shift cable deal with lever that you put on the left side of the trans tunnel that made the electric shift t/case a manual case with lever,cable, linkage deal.. it was silver, awesome, but expensive. If I could juse see it again I'd try to make myself one.

I have a shiftster on my race truck. It's good quality. The only thing that could improve is if they added a detente for neutral for flat towing. I added my own.

Neutral is what I want..

You can see where I added a detente for neutral, the silver indent;
