The Return To Wellsville 2013 (10/05/13) - Official

I turned on you guys.

I am about 80% sure I bought a Jeep.....

My buddy has been working on a YJ project. I bought the rolling chassis and parts off of him.
Specs:
YJ tub and frame
Leaf front - I will make it a 3 link
Triangulated 4 link rear with coils
Chevy 350/SM465/np205
Chevy D60 / 14 bolt
37s
Cage (prebent in a box)
Hydro assist in a box
Rolling chassis. It's a large project but I couldn't pass it up.

We'll call it a reallllyyyyy super custom ranger.... with no ranger parts but the blue ford emblem on the front haha.

Regardless of what we call it.....it will be a hard rig to keep up with...

Why would you want to build such a short wheelbase rig for off-road. I thought you wanted something the family could ride in? A jeep would be ok for crawling over rocks, but I would think it would suck climbing hills in. Even the hill I was climbing at Wellsville in my extended cab, I could feel the front end unloading.

You are right. This one is currently stretched to 102". I would like it to be around 104-106" with a front 3-link setup. My Ranger was 114". A 4 door explorer WB would be perfect...

This one will have seating for at least 3 if not 4.

I did get this really really cheap.

That is why I am still on the fence. I want to get it home and really analyze it. I am looking at $4-5k to finish this thing right. That cost includes finding a used set of 40s. I want a streetable rig too. Not sure if this one is capable of that lol

God. Pissed me off so bad I couldnt make it. I would have been there, but I ended up having major issues with my tow rig (03 7.3 powerstroke) and had to get that back on the road before anything. I had to replace the following:

-injector cups
-exhaust up-pipes
-high pressure oil pump seals
-coolant hoses and resevoir

While I had these done, I ended up having a bunch of other work done as well. I put a TS selectable programmer on it, a 4" straight pipe and I put a NAPA 6637 air filter on it.

With the new parts, the truck runs absolutely awesome now. Soooooo much better.

But the Ranger took a backseat to this project, so hopefully I can get it done next. Looks like it was a blast!

^ Diesel life lol

Those up pipes are fun eh?

Maybe I'll come down for a spring roundup. Don't have an rbv anymore but have a capable full size gmc on tons and 42s!

I was wanting to do a spring run, but the 4.0 in the Ranger is smoking on its last leg. I need to find another 4.0 to swap in :(

What's going on with your old one? Ever get 60s for it?
