Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Well, the old truck was getting a little ragged looking, so I decided to try my hand at painting her up.
But, I didn't exactly have a lot of money to put into this project. Here's how she looked back in April.

And, here's how she looks now.

I spent a grand total of $218.09, not including tax. The paint is Tractor Supply Co. tractor paint; straight Ford Blue on top, and mixed with International White for the middle part. The rocker panels are done in Krylon rattle-can Black Metallic Hammered Finish; and the bumpers are rattle-can Semi-Gloss Black. I got some better junkyard window channel weatherstripping and emblems, and new window beltline weatherstrip from LMC. Oh; and a $10 tape stripe kit from AutoZone, and I rattle-canned the wheels, too. Otherwise, it was simply a matter of taking everything apart, prepping it, and painting it.

It ain't much, but I like this old truck. And the buzz I get now when driving or looking at it is PRICELESS! To me, it was well worth the $218.09.

Thanks for looking, and be nice to those remaining old Rangers.

You did the old girl some justice my friend...................awesome job!

That looks terrific! :icon_thumby:

Great job! :icon_cheers:

she looks gorgeous very good job, its like she just rolled outta the factory floor

That actually does look very very good. Well worth the money I'd say!

Looks great Robbie,good job!

That looks really sharp. :icon_thumby:

After flip flopping around on colors I think I have about settled on the older dark Oliver green... also a tractor color. :D

Thank you all; I'm humbled by, and greatly appreciate, ya'lls kind words.

I have to say, I'm very impressed with the Tractor Supply tractor paint. It sprayed and laid great, and was very forgiving to holding a heavy coat and not running. It's been almost two weeks since I sprayed, and it seems to be curing into a very hard finish.

I had sort of a wild hair, in doing the rocker panels in the Hammered Finish paint, but it does look pretty cool, and it's thick and seems to be a very hard and durable finish. Since the rockers get beat from road crap, I wanted something that would be easy to touch up down the road.

Thanks again.

wow that looks really good, truck has held up well for the years tho, they dont build them like that any more unfortunatly.

Love the job!. Sure wish they still did two tone paint jobs today.
