Hello everyone,
My name is Dick and I have lots of hobbies but if it has wheels and an engine it is my hobby! Im not going to lie.....im a long time chevy guy but I've changed sides after all my chevy trucks were pos. My dad and my friend on the other hand beat the living hell out.of they're fords and they keep kicking. So after lots of lookkg I picked up a 94 b4000 4x4 last night for 900 bucks. Its starts easy and runs smooth, everyting works just fine. The on cons right now are that it has 200k on it, the body has lots of dents but no rust, it has some lift rocking and the throw out bearing sounds crappy.
So I heard that these things run forever so I decided to take my chances. I have owned and built quite a few chevys, I built DSMs for years and last year I sold my last one that made 375 hp on a small 16g, I love to chop, cut, build, weld, etc..... so I promise ill be doing some cool stuff.

Welcome to the Station Port! Good looking truck you've got. Any plans on a build?

Well for starter I want to level the front out with the back and run some 31's or 33's. I'm not sure on how much I plan to life because out here in IL all we do is mud and snow so I don't need tons of suspension travel. Although I have been known to go a little fast on the back roads and through some trails.
I also plan to lose the bed because it is pretty gnarly looking on the other side. I will build a functional flat bed and probably bob the tail a bit as well. A custom front pre runner style bumper is in order as well. Nothing crazy, I want to keep it functional and fun without going crazy with money....good thing I can build most of the stuff my self. someday a 5.0 will be in there but I am going to tax the 4.0 for hat she has and I tell you what, the 4.0 has impressed me!!! 200k on the ticker and she has lots of power.

So I guess what I am going for is a pre runner ish truck. I really like prerunner style stuff but I dont know if it will allow me to do okay in the mud some times. It would help me with my high speed off road adventures though. IDK, we will see what happens with her.

Well I couldn't help my self from wanting to hear the open pipe rumble of the 4.0 so off went the rusty ol muffler. Sounds pretty mean if you ask me. My plan for the exhaust id to run 2.5 " back from the cat with a thrush welded muffler and a 45* and a few in raise for it to come out the bed side on the passenger side. I need to make a project thread before I start getting out of hand with stuff.
After thinking it over I plan on going mild prerunner style. That will allow me to take my dirtbike wherever I need to and still be nice in shallow mud and snow. Plus my needs fenders and bed sides pretty bad so those fiber glass ones will look mighty gnarly sitting on there.
