The new chick

Ahhh somebody has been searching for somebodies age :D. lol jk man. One female wants to join in and all the guys show up now

Try reading the first post. I didn't just show up I'm always reading, I just don't reply much. And we really don't have many gals back home that will work on their own stuff.

Anne wasn't trying to scare you off, or harass you in any way. Welcome to TRS, hope you enjoy your stay and find plenty of good info.

welcome to trs, there are other female truck enthusiasts here so you are in good company.

Well thats good because i am not here looking for attention.
I want to make the MOST custom 4.0 Ranger you have ever seen..... AWD Twin Turbo. Do you think its possible??:secret:

Anything is possible. You just have to be willing to stick to it, and generally having the proper funds in place helps too.

Twin turboing a 4.0 huh, its definately possible, they would be some pretty small turbos though. Although it would be very cool to do a setup similar to what the new diesels have, with a progressive step between the two. One setup to spin at the lower rpm's and one to come in at roughly 3000. You know you just gave me some real expensive ideas. Granted with that setup the engine would need all new internals. Wow, im gonna have to do a little research and try playing with this a little.

Twin Turbo'ing a 4.0 is a monster of a task, but with a reallyyyy fat wallet and plenty of time I'm sure its possible, and as blackbetty already said, your going to need all new internals for the motor, as the stock 4.0 motor can only withstand a few pounds of boost before you run into problems and start damaging internal components.

I'm definitely no expert on this particular subject though, but I think theres a few people here that might be able to help you figure it all out.

Its definatly do able. Anything is, it just depends on how much money and time you wanna put into it to make it work.

AWD was tried and I believe it was abandoned due to lack of funds.

the problem is the expense and time involved in swapping suspension from an 05 4x4 and getting a transfercase to stand up to the engine....... there is one for the explorer and one for the expedition. there is an AWD transfer case from an aerostar I tried it in a 91 explorer and it didn't stand up to the 4.0L that was in it. mine was slightly modified with a more aggressive cam. so you would need an awd T-case from an explorer with a 4.0L and then it would not be true AWD because it would also have capability of 4wd and 4lo. thats the easy part. the hard part is the front end work. not trying to discourage you, just preparing you for the long and painful fight.

most every truck on here has been built with blood, sweat, and gears.

welcome to the site!! its always great to see women loving their trucks!!!

HAHA yea a woman who works on her own vehicle... isnt that kinda weird? haha i just ordered new blacked out tail lights. they shold be here in a few days. :icon_thumby:

You could always use some speed in a bottle... I saw a newer 4.0 SOHC with it and it and that thing hauled some serious ass when you pushed the button. Definitely the fastest Explorer I've ever driven. Are you looking at new wheels and rubber too? There are tons of options. Check out eKeystone.com. All the performance stuff that goes through my shop comes from there.

if you haven't already check out rangerpowersports.com its a little more suited to lowered trucks, not that we dont know what we are talking about lol.
