The new chick

If you wanna spend the money then I would definatly pick up some headers, high flow cats, flowmaster muffler. With the cats your not going to really have any performance gain but sound wise it will be more what your looking for I think. The flowmaster alone will give the truck more of a rumble sound and slightly better performance but probly not noticable. Ive never done the headers so I cant comment on those.

Yes it is VERY addicting! especially because i am tapping into a new kind of vehicle. Its kinda like pringles.... once you pop you just cant stop! I only found this forum last night and you guys are giving me such good ideas and advice... and i thank you guys for that.... i just need to get started and start lookin at prices and different brands.. you know...

sometimes its not all about name brand parts, you can find the same part that does the same thing for a cheaper price... but it is nice to have name brand... so here i come ebay!!

Welcome

A lot of people on here seem to dowm the cold air intakes. I have the K&N 77 series on mine and had no problem with it. Felt more power as soon as I put it on. As for headers im going to try Jba they seem like a good company. Good luck

JBA Headers seem to work well, I know a guy that runs them on his Ranger and hes pretty pleased with them. Pacesetter makes a set too, but I don't know anyone that runs them so I can't help you on input there.

Michowski, I think there would be a bit of a performance gain. When I had my two stock cats removed and replaced with a single high-flow, I gained some power out of it. Enough to where I accidently chirped my rears pulling out of the parking lot at work a few times before I got used to using less throttle on stop -> go

Then again, that might be because my stock cats were pretty well filled with a bunch of crap that was restricting exhaust flow somewhat....

Welcome to TRS!

I highly appreciate the fact that you are so into your truck.
I can't help much with the 4.0 or the bags but, just about anything else.

Theres gonna be some performance gain but its nothing that makes you just go like :woot:. Its one of those things that make you grin when the powerband kicks in and the cats go to work. I wouldnt say its anything extreme but its ok.

Best description EVER!!! hahahaha

Your right, the power gain isn't huge, but it is noticeable to a certain degree. For instance it used to take 3/4 throttle and some clutch work to chirp my rears, now-a-days it takes 1/3 throttle and a lil' clutchin. Its not like its a pancake-face difference or anything, but its still a gain.

Now that's funny.

Guys stop drooling. 97blackBetty now that TRS is co-ed you might have to change the picture under your name.:D

Drooling hell I've finally got a little hope. There are women out there around my age that likes working on their own stuff. I was scared that all of them were afraid to get dirty these days.

Ahhh somebody has been searching for somebodies age :D. lol jk man. One female wants to join in and all the guys show up now

it happens around attention-starved truck addicts :p

getting back to the subject at hand ........

Welcome to TRS ......
Cold air intake won't do anything for you and a K&N filter will get you the throatier sound but no performance gain that is worth the cost.

if you got the bucks then a Supercharger, jet chip, tri-y headers, highflow cats, and stick with a single exhaust. 4.10 gears would be a good choice to give you that ass dino feeling. 3.73 would be more practical.

or swap in a 5.4L S/C crate motor and you will be feared by the bowtie
