The morning news... and the end of an era

It's actually Detroit style pizza... IMHO... there is nothing good in Chicago.

The older I get... moving to a warmer climate without salted roads sounds like a good move... But Michigan will always be my home.

Hahaha, A couple years ago, this same time of year, I had a similar discussion with my son who completely coincidentally landed in New Jersey about 30 minutes from where I grew up. He stopped shoveling snow and I had to pull the convertible off to the side of the road to hear him. I told him the same thing: “New Jersey will always be ‘home!’ That’s why I visit it 5-6 days a year....“

& you should see the completely rust-free ranger beds I got for my trailers for $100 each....

I appreciate the offer...

This isn't any last minute deal... our eyes are wide open.

We're here in MI and are thinking of New Mexico or Utah -- basically as far away from people as possible.

A good resource for tractor related info is mytractorforumdotcom.

Pre DEF Deere or Kubota. Whichever has the better dealer support in your area. Play with features as needed from there.

So it's been nearly two years... but the pizzeria deal goes down Monday. Spent most of the week getting everything ready for transfer of ownership.

I tried to get an 06 FX4 Level II as a signing bonus... that didn't pan out as it was sold. Probably for the best... but I sure wanted it.

Too many thoughts running through my head about what to do next... it really has me paralyzed today. Kinda sick to my stomach for some reason...

I never thought that semi retirement would make me want to throw up?

in about 2 years I'll be stopping in a small gas station/gift shop somewhere in 'da you pee and saying, damn that's some great pizza.

be sure to sell sweatshirts too, I always buy sweatshirts up there.

I remember my last service call the day before I retired. finished up right at 5 and there was a great sunset.

I live in akron/stow/cuyahogafalls area of ohio bout an 40 to an hour south of Cleveland. I grew up between this area and ravenna area 30min west of youngstown. You PA guys will know.

Anyway I'm currently trying to buy my first house back out there away from the city. Most of my family lives out there. But I can't take it anymore I live literally right behind a Walmart and Lowe's I could whip a rock and take a dude off a fork truck from my front yard.

But the traffic is insane, the schools are decaying, and drugs are a growing prob everywhere (condensing in cities). Albeit it's very nice to be able to walk to a auto parts store but it's time for me to move as well. I have thought about moving out of state my one friend went to Georgia.
Just called me up one day said goodbye and left. Been doing great ever since he even bought a deuce and a half!

@pjtoledo

I'm not sure of much for the future... but I can say with certainty I'm done in the pizza business.

I "retired" in 2014 and was a bit LOST for a couple of months.....then I picked up some hobbies and now 7 years later I'm really enjoying the "no working for a living" thing. You'll get used to it.

That isn't gonna happen either...

I'm trying to get away from people... not invite the entire internet into my daily life.

I honestly don't know what happens from here. But phase one of the plan is done... phase two begins after Monday. That includes working on the house and getting it ready for market. Might also include contacting a realtor in Michigan and have them start putting together a list of places to go look at.

I like retirement, if I decide to work all afternoon to make something fit the way I want it to, that's what I do. I spent 4 decades worrying about the cost of time, now my main concern is doing things the way I want them done. Give it a little while, you'll wonder how you used to find time to work.
