so what is the benefits of swaping trannys in my 2.9 b2. i'm not even sure whats in it.. (dark outside so it will wait till tomorrow.) but when i pull it to find out what happened to my 5th gear and reverse, it might be just as easy and cheap to swap it with another. so i definitly don't want the automatic, so it looks like maybe the t5?

what i'm looking for are the benefits of using this tranny verses that tranny and whatnot. can ya help me out?

t56, t10 top loader, muncie rock crusher? jk, you probably have a mazda or toyo kogyo(i cant spell!) in you truck.

If a deal goes through for me, I will have a FM-146 5 speed manual for sale. It is a direct replacement for the automatics.

M5OD from a 4.0 ranger. it'll hold up to whatever your 2.9 can dish out and its a bolt in swap.

what year of ranger? for the m50d swap?

im curious cuz i think the junk yard has some older rangers siting around.

anything 91+ with a 4.0 and 5 speed will be an M5OD (only the 4.0 trans will fit your 2.9).
