The Hunt:

Kubotas are the best tractors.hands down cept for maybe a old ford one
and good luck on that job at the dealership!

Well its looking good. I went down and talked to the service manager and shop foreman today. Service manager told me he had 1 spot open and another one that might be opening up soon.

He also said he had 30 applications/resumes , and 29 were worthless. Mine was #30. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

He wants me to come back for another interview with him and the dealer principal next week.

Sounds promising. If they want you back for a 2nd interview, that's usually a good sign.

Yeah. It also helps that it's a former used car lot that was just bought by a large auto group and turned into a Ford dealer. I have more Ford certs than half of their techs.

Well I guess i know who turn to when I've got a question on my Ranger!

Sometimes It's all about being at the right place at the right time.

Well, got the call today...

Second interview tomorrow at 10 AM.:yahoo::yahoo:

Well, I've had 4 conversations with this guy so far, this was the first time he sounded happy.... so I'm hoping.

Good luck..we all know it is tough out there right now. Sounds like it is definately going your way though! Keep us posted

Well, looks like I get to spend all day tomorrow running up and down Rt 15 between Williamsport and Dillsburg. Anyone need anything delivered along that corridor? I'll have most of a 12x5 trailer open.

Oh, did I mention I got the job?

Congrats on the job!!!

Thanks man. This is actually kind of a funny situation for me now. I've gone from being the all around least experienced guy in the shop to in some ways being ahead of everyone.

I'm still the youngest, but this place has only been a Ford dealer for about 9 months, so I'm way ahead of most of the other guys in terms of my Ford certs. I'm sure they all still know more than I do about almost everything, but on paper it looks funny.

Being the youngest aint squat. If you know your shizzle - you'll be on top of the heap. My first real job, after a year, my manager told me "I didn't want to hire you" - "But, I'm really glad I did" With all the excellent advice you've given over what I've seen on the posts for the last few months - You'll be the stuff. Good luck man. May the Force be with you.
