The gun thread...

What is it that you're looking for in a gun? If you want more on the side of accuracy and quality, go with the Ruger. If you want a cheaper brush gun beater/plinker get an SKS. Both are great guns.

Also, the Mini-30 shoots the same round as the SKS.

The SKS is not a throw away gun either. Like the AK47, it too can take a beating...

sks are decent guns, those tapco stocks they make for them look pretty wicked. honestly id get the mini 30 because the ammo is so much less, and its a .30 cal bullet, not .223, anygun is accurate its all about the shooter.

AR

Just picked up another AR, from craigslist no less.

It's a Stinger lower with a Bushmaster 21 1/2" competition upper.

Came with many extras including a spotting scope, 4X24 M2 Tactical scope with mounts, tactical rifle "soft" case, 9 assorted mags, adjustable shoulder pad, sling, strap-on cheek pad, two different pistol grips and but plates, and over 1500 rnds of ammo for $1400.00. :icon_thumby:

How'd you manage that one? Sounds like quite a deal!

Gotta get some pics!

You know, now that you mentioned that, I found a "hunting item" ad on craigslist. I could only guess what kind of hunting item would be non-descriptive and still bring a $375 asking price. Turns out it's a Stoeger 2000 that's been fired 5 times... Might be looking into that one.

Thanks man. Yeah hers is a lefty. Funny story. for our first wedding anniversary SHE wanted to go to the gun range..at which point I KNEW I hadda keeper! anyway, with her never having fired a weapon of any kind before, she was easy to teach and she really took well to it.

I noticed that while shooting my AR, she was holding her head WAAAAY over top of the receiver to line up the sights, and when I looked, she was using her left eye. When I tried to correct her, she said it was easier for her to focus this way....hmmmm. turns out she's right handed, but left eye dominant.

No prob..just gave me an excuse to buy her next birthday present! Oh let me tell you how well THAT was received!:icon_thumby:

The "Wedding Anniversary Gun Range Run" has becom a tradition now...(only been married four years though)

She even got behind the Mauser....once. It doesn't see much action anymore, my old shoulders can't take the beating they used to.

Oh yeah, GOTTA love the ol' relics! The Garand and Mauser reside side by side in the safe..two old war horses at rest.

I KNOW I am going to start a fight with this one, although I am in no way intending to be a smartass, so please do not misunderstand me, ok?

I do not like the AK....never did. I guess I just never got on the AK bandwagon.

Don't have a Nagant either. Russian weapons hold no interest for me.
Don't like "The Red Army"

The only way I'd ever want an AK "infidel" rifle is if I PERSONALLY took it from said "infidel".......or a "Red"
