'450 can come wide frame or narrow frame, dually bed is optional. They just added that option a few years ago.
Ground clearance = snow clearance for those that live in northern climates and don't care about offroading too.
That as well.
For well over a decade subaru had great success marketing the outback at people both like that and those who wanted to get a little further off road than they could in a "regular" car.
The outback during that time frame was the same exact car as the legacy, only with bigger tires, taller struts, and spacers between subframes & the car body to lift it a couple inches.
