The Ford Maverick is coming June 8th

Seriously though i dunno how it even runs, the carb has been welded and brazed so many times it like a block of slag with some holes in it... people want stupid money for an original replacement but once it starts after about 30 minutes it runs fine. I have a set of Honda carbs from a 70's Honda inline 4 cylinder (I think 900cc). The carbs are the same size, with some creative intake work and jetted properly I wonder if one would work.

Wonder how it works :ROFLMAO:

We just put a imported carb on a JD 3020, we were not impressed.

Three cylinders into two pipes in like 2' of space. I wonder how that works or if the bottom pipe is just a dummy.
Good question. I wonder if it's some sort of RPM based dual size system where it tries to create high velocity with a single pipe and opens up the lower as needed?

The base looks right but nothing else looks like my carb lol. Who knows if mine is original though. I sent on some Ford tractor websites and those people are weird... I can only handle one weird group at a time and I'm not THAT into my tractor.

Pretty much everything had that style of base, sizes vary greatly though.

Read my edit lol. You're too fast.

8N (little Fords in general) are kind of the aircooled VW bug of the tractor world.

Both the tractor and owners kinda march to their own drum...

I was offered a tractor and said hell yes! I have land but it's all woods, no reason to own a tractor other than... Weeeeeee tractor! I got a 3 point to trailer hitch adapter and have moved crap around the yard. Great for shuving my boat in the corner but other than that have found no use. They make so many crazy attachments like even engine lifts for the PTO but mine doesn't run unless it's moving so it's useless. If I had a PTO than didn't run off the rear axle I could find way more uses. Mine is made for farm implements only. Nothing for standing still.

That isn't how the PTO is supposed to work. It should run with the clutch out and trans in neutral too. PTO is commonly used without the wheels moving as a power unit.

Ok so mine doesn't have a PTO hookup as you call it. I know what you mean, but mine only drives off the rear axle so if it doesn't move nothing spins. There is no other way on my tractor to spin anything, rear axle MUST be moving. Nothing off the trans, only an output on the axle itself.

Well I can't recall any 3 cylinder engine in history actually working out well and good lord many have tried ...

My brother's 1991 Chevy Sprint 1.0 L did really well. Great on fuel and zippy enough around town with the manual. Never burned oil either. He traded up for a Honda Civic CRX.....a Sprint on Steroids.

*actually started out with four but they gave up on trying to get it to run without a miss.
Dayshift couldn’t figure out that a Powerstroke 6.0l had a bad injector and needed us to diagnose the problem for them... I fixed it in under a minute. They weren’t amused:

1.5L 3cylinder diesel would be great for a small truck like this. Chop the baby power stroke in half.

Depending on the powertrain, this actually might not be too bad.

I know the reason I brought my Ranger in 09 was because I wanted a smaller size truck. I do not really tow too often, and if I do, it is a small trailer or maybe as large as a small fishing boat.

I also wanted something that would be easy to maneuver in tight parking lots. In NJ, they have been making spots smaller and parking lots tighter over the years. Whenever I go to Cabelas in Hamburg, PA, I enjoy the massive parking spaces.

If the price is right, this could be a pretty decent buy.
