I know this horse is beat to death but i badlly need help guys


guys my 2.3 manual kicked the bucket, so i grabbed an automatic 4.0 donor truck at an estate sale for 200 bucks.

Ive seen several how to threads on this and from wht i see it depends on WHICH 2.3 u have.

How do i tell which i have? (96 2.3L manual)

I will be swapping the entire drivetrain out so my 96 will be an auto when swap is finished.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking?

If you have a 96 truck chances are you are going to need a 96+ motor to swap in for emissions and computer reasons. because they switched to OBDII somewhere between 95 and 96.

you have the lima 2.3. its the SOHC with 8 plugs. and being a 96 will be OBD2
