The dreaded 2.8 to 4.0 swap


now that we've hijacked... about the looks. dang we are mall crawlers!!!! lol. j/k...

but yeah. i was looking for some info on this swap to b/c i found a b2 w/ a 2.8 and almost bought it earlier but i found out it needs more work than i thought. so make sure you document everything when you do it so we all will know how later on
 
Well I found a efi 5.0, which looks to be a gt50 style intake, gonna get the numbers off and see what we got. 250 bux. Still not sure if I would rather do that or the 4.0

I like the idea of a 2nd gen dash and keeping the same trans. Just like the v8 sound but not the gas mileage lol
 
Honestly, I'm glad I did the 4.0 swap instead of a 5.0.

More power and v8 means transmission and t/case swap. Also means more power to break axles which means bigger axles. Bigger axles means bigger tires--- bc you don't want 33's on a d60! Lol. It's a chain reaction. The 4.0 will work with most of what you already got. It fits better... Better gas mileage than a 5.0 probably.

if you got the dime, go for it...
i didn't and still don't have the dime for it... so....
