The "Donkey" build/rebuild

It went from rain to snow and I was like wtf is going on???
Then it kept snowing, and kept snowing all through the night! Got a total of about 6” with drifts on the road to about a foot. 9 May!!!
My iCloud is messed up or I could post the pictures as it started and then built up.

Test for my signature, why isn’t it showing? Childproof?

I see it...

you should have added a link.

Well, its been a while…
Wife took dora (her explorer) for a run the other night with the girls. I had stuff on the go so stayed home by the phone “in case”.
Got a phone call, we took a wrong trail and theres trees blown down across it, can you come help us?
Took the chainsaw and the donkey on a rescue mission. I knew the trail they went on so i came in from the other end…to a couple trees down. Cut them up and moved them and kept going. Came across three more and saw headlights on the other end of the swampy track. Cut them up and use a choker to pull them off the road. Second pull and the donkey quit like it run out of gas?
I carry a jerry can so dumped 5 gal in it… nope, it would only sputter like no fuel. I listened, fuel pump isn't working. Pulled a speaker wire out, stripped it with my teeth and wired the fuel pump to the battery.
Pumps running, fuel sprays out of the shrader valve on the fuel rain but no sir, will not run. Pulled the intake pipe off and used the rad overflow hose to siphon some gas and spit it right down the intake. Nope, engine still farts and coughs like the fuel pressure is too low. Walked in 2-3 feet of mud and water to the girls then backed her truck up, turned it around and drove out of the trail and around where i went in and drove up to the donkey from behind.
Towed the donkey home and its been sitting in front of the garage for two days now because im too busy building a baby barn and running the still.

Change the fuel filter, check fuses, check relay….all kinds of stuff to do when i get to it.

And how is your day going?? Lol!

Oh, gratuitis shots of the still in action…

Well you can file that under “that’s not supposed to happen” I guess.
Went and got a couple fuses and a fuel filter. Popped the fuses in, pump runs, still won’t start. Sounds like it doesn’t have enough fuel pressure.(and i cant find my gauge…)
Put the new filter on and checked fuel flow, lots spit out, hooked up the other side of the filter and…fired right up!!!
So while in the woods, the filter plugged up and blew the fuse?? Very weird, not supposed to do that.

Oh and the blown fuse?
I opened it, soldered it up (there is three weak points to blow, now there is two) and i have a spare fuse for in the dash.
Yeah, don't do this at home, yada, yada, yada, lol!

If you poured gas in the intake and it still did started, that leads me to believe it wouldn't have been a fuel issues. weird.

Actually to be more precise, it stumbled and gave one little rev then died. Rolling it over again only got a sputter/attempt to start. Gas in the intake would make it “run” but just a quick rev as it was only a 1/4” line 18” long or so. About a tablespoon of gas id say.
Running now though!
Clean up from stilling today and then get back to working on the barn. Wheeling?…..be a bit yet unfortunately.

The “other” hobby.
This is why I have too many projects on the go! This particular one is over 7 1/2’ tall!

(I LOVE being retired!!!!)

Well, did lots of work on the wife’s explorer named “Dora” and just started working on the kids 06 ranger called “boots”. I’ll make a new thread about boots, here’s a teaser pic. 😁

Well the donkey is sitting under 2’ of snow and ice with both front tires flat...😢 I’ve got boots, Dora and my f150 (that I haven’t named, it’s just “truck”😂) all running around off road. Wife is trying to convince me that I don’t need 4 vehicles to off road with. Bah, can’t have too many! Oh and there is the tractor and 4 wheelers I guess too...

Anyway, it’ll be the next project and I’ll write it all up here!🍺

You should call your F150 " Backpack"
