So i just bought a 88 ranger, of course it needs tires(slicker then a babys bottom) and of course you know im going to lift it and put bigger tires on this baby(only 33's)

now what would you do, i could lift it right now with a rough country but then my tires would be bald and ugly, or i have enough to buy 4 new tires, but i dont want to buy tires just to use them for a month and upgrade then.

what would you do? i know alot of you have been in this situation, the only thing is i need the tires. hmmm but im stubborn and want to lift the truck.

I'd wait to get tires. If your going strait to 33's your going to need the lift first. Not to mention you'll need to re-gear to be able to pull 33's anyway, which(if you can do it yourself) could cost around another $300 just for the gears.

If you need to drive the truck now you could get used tires.

Check craigslist.org.

Yes, get used tires for now, no sense in driving an unsafe vehicle around.

When you have the cash for the lift and for 33's, then buy both, and do it on a weekend.

Or if you're willing to live with 31s (that's only one inch less clearance), you can put them on with no lift and no fuss beyond a speedometer recalibration.

i never though about buying used tires, and i think im just going with 31's for now and maybe just a body lift since i was going to do that anyways.

You might actually want to check a local tire shop for some decent Pull-offs. Alot of people buy new tires while the tires they have on are still in decent shape.
