I don't really understand why they are doing that...those cars (or at least the first one) seems to run fine.

That would be one hell of a job to be the guys that have to take them all apart though.

wat a waste, i know they cant sell the cars because of liability issues as new cars, mabey sell them as is for scrap value so people can use them as parts, hell, why are they even throwing away the tires? HOW DA HELL YOU SCREW UP TIRES????

i blame all the sue-happy people...

i was talking about this with my dad and he made a few good points. the person that eventually made the decision to scrap those cars was a man somewhere near the top of the company. from his point of view those cars were just numbers. probably didnt know much about the mechanics of a car, but how to run a business and to keep it out of trouble. from that point of view he did his job. it still makes me wonder why the couldnt be put in junkyards or something. so many parts on those cars that could have been flipped over and over and not had any problems. all of the interior, the brakes, the suspension, wheels and tires. they could have pulled the engine/trans and put the rest in junk yards. i would have to think that guys like us could have bought out all 4,000 cars for a couple thousand bucks each, that would have been more than they made scrapping them. mark the title as salvage, no warranty. who cares, its still a good car....

I was going to post earlier...but was flabbergasted by the volume of waste...and, yeah, it was probably a business decision...

Like when I see places like Tim Horton's throwing away almost perfectly good food just because it has "expired"...and I think about how many starving or otherwise sugar craving individuals who can't afford the luxury would chew off an arm to get one of them...

Business is business...

I would have been more than willing to take one for cheap and promise not to sue or sell it.
