the best new 4.0 ohv heads?

Anyone know who has the best deals on the new 4.0 fully assembled castings. King cylinder heads has them for 208$+ ship each and there not too far out of cali. So far Im probally going to pick those up

LMC has bare heads, new castings. $300ea

Your local auto parts store...like O'Reilly's....but they are pricey. $320ea

Ebay has a few listed....

I'd inspect those very carefully when you get them.

My experience with cheap heads has not been good.

Above all, make SURE you get some Prussian Blue (or ATF) and check that the valves seal. Also check that the valves are faced with three angles, not one.

The Haynes book has a full set of specs for head work. Check every last one. And don't be surprised if these "new" heads come with brand new bellmouthed valve guides....

That company looks pretty reputable, and usually a warranty means a good product,
BUT proceed with caution. Just because they have a good lookin', well organized website and a warranty does not guarantee that they are good heads.

Both of those attributes get people to say " That company looks pretty reputable, and usually a warranty means a good product, " but in truth it is little more than a shinny wrapper over a turd, instead of that nice heresy's bar you thought you where getting. I say this only because that warranty has a lot of loop holes.
you can void it on many factors that they could blame on you but it in truth it was a part failure, and you would have no way to prove it. (basicly how, in my experience, all warranties work.)

But i did a little research for you, Kind Head's sponsors several race drag car race teams, which in most cases means a good product as race teams don't normally partake in buying use less crap and keeping it.

I also found several people on different websites who have used heads from king cylinder head.com and seemed to be satisfied.

I have not used the product personally, so i cannot say it is good, but I say that if it where me i would consider purchasing these heads.

I have heard good things about alabama cylinder heads.

For a NEW casting for 140ea and new springs, and valves for $45 more is great.

My thought is that most of the aftermarket new casts would be the same heads, made by a single company and then resold through LMC, etc.

But, I wonder why LMC's are 300ea vs Alabama's at 140ea?

When I was porting/selling the Stage-3 ported heads, I used Alabama Cylinder Heads castings exclusively - more uniform all the way around and nice, thick decks.

well the kings still beat the alabamas on price and on waranty. According to thier page i see a 90 warranty vs 2 years if i saw that right? Then delta cam is nearby me in tacoma so i can get the hardened rocker arms and treated push rods with out shipping
