the powerboost....i would be happy to give up 600 pounds of cargo capacity and 2k of the 12 plus k towing capacity for 100 miles electric range....

and that is coming.

the super duty systems will be interesting.

and using the bronco and expedition hybrids boondocking will be awesome....the power these have for overlanding and expedition rigs is just awesome.

i have no use for all electric if i were to only own one vehicle. thats retarded. i want options......in a traffic jam in a blizzard.....i want options...trying to escape a storm....i want options......out in the wild....i really want options.


the all electric for commuting....no problem. most of us have more then one vehicle. and an all electric for the chores is perfect.


so yes....electric vehicles of all types are going to rocket in production the next 5 years compared to 10 years ago. its only been 12 years with the teslas...


and these machines ford and gm are putting out are crazy......that hummer is out of control beast from hell.

The Blizzard/stuck on highway in snowstorm story was fake. Car and Driver did similar test and kept cabin at 65 degrees for 45 hours.
 
Really?, the solar is paid off I assume. Even still, has it actually paid for itself. 5000 miles in a month is pretty high too. 60k a year, I would expect some expensive maintenance is in your future.

Solar is not paid off. Solar payment each month is equal to my average electric bill before I got solar and the electric car. Now with solar I'm providing entire house power and vehicle power for the entire year.

a nissan leaf isnt doing that shit....or a tesla....a tesla adds at least a day to a 2500 mile trip on the people i know with teslas that tried it and could not go the way they wanted to to see new parts of the country.. or go to yellowstone without adding 2 days.


all electric sux for people like me.

for now. i love electric cars. just dont fit my needs. yet.
 
I have thought about putting solar panels on my barn roof. I could get a ton of them up there.

Too bad the peak runs north/south though.

ICE isnt going anywhere. Espicially once we get an oil friendly adminstration back in office. If they do end up stopping all engine production they will go bankrupt. People are not going to accept the shortcomings of electric.

They already are. In Saskatchewan, the number of electric vehicles has tripled in the last two years or so. In about 2019, there were 400. Last year there were 600. Now there are about 1,000. Whether you like it or not, people are accepting the "shortcomings" of electric.

In Canada, there are 250,000 electric vehicles. So, yes, people are accepting the "shortcomings" of electric.

Is it possible that residential lawn mowers and snow blowers and such can predict the EV future? They seem to be an ideal candidate for electric power. They’re used on a pretty electric-friendly schedule, and they have to be price and performance competitive (haven’t checked but probably aren’t).

Interesting. For me, an electric lawn mower isn't practical. I'd be forever wrapping that thing's cord around a tree (or more than one tree).

On the other hand, for somebody like my mom, who has a smallish yard with no trees to wrap the cord around, an electric mower works really well for her.

My neighbor owns a 15 acre Christmas tree farm... he only uses a battery powered leaf blower. After 30+ years he says it’s one of the best things he’s ever bought. It’s lighter than a gas blower, just as powerful, and the 2 battery packs last longer than his bad hip.

Oh that’s right… some have cords. I guess I’m thinking of battery powered ones. The cord alone would be a deal breaker for me.

I just had this thought walking into Lowe’s today. They had a $4,000 electric zero turn sitting out front.
