gotta admit, i love this explorer, even for a 2wd. i'm getting off work at noon and going hunting.

also shown in the pic: the custom one off Perfectly made home-maid trailer for 2 4wheelers... or perfect for using the pickup and 3 4wheelers. the front of it is also a lift gate that lays down to the tailgate...so drive up on the trailer, drive up in the bed of the truck. when my oldest bro was living with us we had 3 4wheelers to take to the woods so... we remedied our problem.

yeah, forgot about this thread again...
the EX has been my DD since thursday since my b2 is at home w/ the transmission out.

it runs good. we ain't done anything else to it yet.

coming soon, headliner...

Doing some maintenance work on the explorer recently to get it back to a DD state. Since my mom has the 07 Sport Trac and dad finally traded that chevy off for his 03 f150, the explorer has been parked since the trans work on my b2.

In the last 4 days or so I've done brakes all way around(all new rotors pads drums) with wheel cylinders in the rear. Also ball joints up front. I ordered AC lines for it and got the wrong ones so I'm waiting on the right ones. Got a new AC accumulator waiting to. Only thing I've not already bought is valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, and oil. So yeah.... Lol. I should have never waited this long to do some of this work. But after this round everything will be just about perfect on the explorer.

I can tell you one thing.... If it was mine; it'd get a disc brake swap. I forgot how many more parts there were in drum brakes.

Maybe I can finish it in this 100+ degree weather so I can tear my b2 down soon.

Driving this one again for a few days... it needs to be drove. It's sat in the same spot for like 2 months lol. So Sad...
gonna buy some lifters for it soon...

Driving home last Friday night there was a telephone cable hanging down low enough to hit. Being dark, by the time I saw it there was nothing I could do except slam on the brakes as I hit it.
Sometime before, they moved a telephone pole but they didn't add another back (I'm guessing...) and the cable had stretched down LOW. The distance between the 2 poles now is crazy. I don't know what happened, I just know for some reason the cable was down
You can see in one of the pics of where I ended up stopping. 45mph to 0mph in no distance at all.

It's a scary feeling when you see something hanging down about eye level and you're driving and don't have time to stop. I'm just glad it's just the vehicle. I'm fine. The explorer is fixable. Already went to Pull A Part this morning and picked up a hood, fender, and headlight housing.

I'd be calling them asking them for some money and then some for the damages to the truck.

But that's me.
