ok this may be a stupid question to ask but when putting the carrier, gears, etc. do i need to get the gasket made for it or can i just use silicone gasket material?

also does anyone know if there is supposed to be a seal here?

Yes it is fine to use RTV sealant for the 3rd member to housing seal.

No there is no seal on the end of the tube, just the inner seal where the axle shaft enters the differential.

alright thanks guys, having no seal at the end of the tube seems really bad lol.. seems like lots of mud can get in there then destroying the inner seal and messin up ur gears
