The 1 tool you can't live without

I've had a few favs, but probably the most favourite is my 4" ratcheting screwdriver with removable bits...

I have pretty much dismantled the entire inside of my truck with Stubby(my pet name for it) and it also doubles for working on computers...using the extended bits has given me reach and leverage that do amazingly well in tight spots...

the 1 tool i can't live without....hmm....how can i put this without getting banned.....hmmm.....

so all i need is my M16

Lets see, my Gerber Scout goes everywhere with me. It's been beat on, and I had one of the 'other' type of multi-tools. I hated not being able to get a good grip on things without having a tool imprint on my palm for a couple of days.

The other tool would have to be my Klein Linesman pliers. They can do just about anything I've ever needed as well.

Both have lifetime warranties that are honoured.

BTW: The Canadian Forces uses Gerber as well. Only they get really nice OD green holders, some with a green flag on them.

My brain. I am shocked no one else said that.

1/2" ratcheting wrench.

Cant work on a RBV without one.

Angle Grinder. If something breaks just cut it off and continue without it.

Bottle opener? Sure helps when things go bad.

:icon_rofl: oh, yeah...

When I first started driving there were no seatbelt laws but most cars had them...my friend surprised me by using the metal edge to pop the caps off a couple of beers...then he said something to the effect of "what a handy invention those things are..."

I think I've used a screw driver or seat belt buckle more than I've ever used an actual bottle opener...

I can't find them for sale anymore but Craftsman Robo-Grip pliers were my friend for a long time (til someone borrowed them and never returned them). :flipoff: They could grip anything and got really great leverage.

Can't really work on anything with just one tool. But the item I would be most reluctant to dispose of would be my little loader. With forks and a dozer blade, this is the most handy thing I have. The mind boggles at what you can do in seconds that used to take days, and at what you can do that you couldn't do at all before.

Second place is, of course, the chicken--kills snakes, bugs, tears up rotten leaf piles, fertilizes as it goes and lays eggs--and, most of all, you can eat it when it pisses you off:

i have a pair (not yours, i promise), and they are damn handy.

my current favorite tool is the craftsman lockback knife that takes standard utility knife blades. the fancy wood handled one. i can cut and hack away at whatever i want. concrete bags, stuff sitting on concrete or steel, whittle, etc... once a week i take it apart, clean/oil it, and put in a new blade.

KelTec .380 with Lasergrips. I've never needed it but have it with me just in case...
