Ranger Warne 10
New Member
I joined the ranger station because i wanted to be a part of this excellent community. i have peered into the window a few times and got some very useful info on the forums from fellow ranger enthusiasts, which i was able to use to get rid of the famous ping under acceleration. my 93 4.0 auto 4X4 runs awesome and gets an average of 17.5 mpg around town and about 22 on the road fully loaded with my camping gear. not too shabby for a truck with a quarter of a million miles on it.
i have been a ford truck enthusiast my whole life, starting with my dad's ford truck i grew up in. his first truck was a 67 chevy 2wd and we used it for everything in the arizona desert from work to hunting. when i was ten he got a 76 f100 4X4. again we used it for everything, hauling firewood to the ski boat and horses. we traveled cross country on a family vacation and the 3 of us kids road in the back under a canopy for about 4,000 miles. i fell in love with that truck, and as i got old enough to drive, it was what i learned to drive in. i mudded it, wheeled it, cruised it, and even drag raced it. i went through countless ford pickups and one bronco, which i went through top to bottom and it was a pretty good wheeler. i finally bought my own classic, a1979 f150 ranger xlt lariat. its was pretty rough and barely got home, but i went through it and it is now a reliable classic that i love.
so i wanted to join the ranger station as a show of support and appreciation. without all you guys i would probably still be pinging along. i will be ordering some stickers to adorn my ranger in and fly the ranger station colors!
