Thank a Vietnam vet!

Well I served in OEF and run a Hoosier Veterans plate. I ALWAYS thank a vet when I see one. Knowing what little I went through is nothing compared to what they went through. The whole paying for dinner thing was very noble. Makes me think that I should try to do the same next time I am out.

While we're on the subject of Vietnam vets, I'd like to note that we just lost another one three weeks ago.

My father died on Oct. 10, 2009 of renal failure. He was 62. Liver was eaten up with cancer.

He did three tours in 'Nam. 1966, 1967, and 1968.

This one's for you Pop.

I joined the Navy in 81, and made a point of listening to Vietnam vets. It is also interesting that some of the poeple I've known over the years make a BIG distinction over being a Vietnam Vet (those in theater), or a Vietnam ERA vet (those never in theater)...

As I retired in 2001, I'm glad to see ALL vets being honored. But very pleased that more of the Vitnam Vets are being recognized. Late, yes... But it has changed some. Thanks guys...

I went in the summer of 1995. Now I am the sgt. and the kids really look like kids. Sorry about your Dad. I don't know what you are going through now but I will when Step dad goes. He is also a Vietnam vet.
