I've remoted the tfi in a heatsink, but it' gets real hot to where i can't even touch it.Is this to be expected, and I still get the phantom shut downs when I come to stop light.

not real sure if it should get that hot. but where did you mount it?

I mounted on the right fender apron down low inline with air intake duct witch I used.(i installed a K&N filter, the stock air box is not used ,the front grill baffle is out).I live near Phoenix AZ.witch got to 114 deg to day.But it fails on days in the 90s.Iam thinking of mounting HS with flat part facing the duct. All the wiring rings out right as far as the remote tech sheet.

Well, if you want to put in the effort you could always try relocating the TFI inside the cab where the A/C could help cool it.

That does sound like its getting way too hot though. Mine is in the stock location and I can still touch it with everything up to operating temp.

Inside the cab is my next option,Iam going to recheck all the wiring. SPDCRAZYdo you live in Flagstaff AZ.Because I parted out a 84 B2 if you need body parts,T-case (manual)

yes i do live in flagstaff, and about the only thing i think i need is the inner fender wells. need to hack mine for more uptravel and i would like to weld in a new rear section and make it look similar to a stock wheel well. just a tad taller and more room back. (my WB is 1.5in ish longer)

could use the front turn signals too. but no rush. anything aftermarket? what gears ya got in the front?

The only body parts I have left are the doors, rear hatch with flip glass.I have the stock Dana 28 - 3.73 diff. with axle shafts and the 3.73 rear axle complete. No turn signals assys. email bfiakas@yahoo.com
