Just a quick question, would there be any sort of problems with relocating the heat sensitive TFI module to inside of the truck cab to keep it away from engine heat? Thanks for any help and advise

No problem in doing that but.........................TFI module does run hot on its own, needs a good size heat sink to cool it down, distributor does work as a heat sink but just not a good one because of its location in the engine bay.

No good reason to move that TFI heat into that cab, and a few good reasons not to, lol.

Read this article: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/remote_tfi.shtml

Rad support is a much cooler area, and if you want you could put it on the Front side of rad support, or drill a larger hole in rad support so it got air flow on the back side of heat sink while driving

Probably not other than routing the wires.

It is not necessary though as most people move it to the front of the engine bay where there is lowered temperatures and increased air flow. The main concern is that in the factory installed position there is excessive heat that lead to problems with starting and operations once the engine heated up.

The move away from that heat source eliminated the problem in all cases of failure so relocating it anywhere that provides the same conditions would work.

Awesome. Thank you both for the help

The TFI system was used on 4cyls and V8s where the distributor was close to the fan so kept them cooler
On the 2.9l and 3.0l the distributor location and upper intake limited air flow.
