I've instaslled an '88 instrument cluster with tach and temp guage in my '84 Ranger. I need to know what ohms range the temp guage requires. I have a sending unit I took off an '87 2.3TC engine. I'd like to be sure it'll work before I install it.

Can any one answer this? Is the temp gauge sender for the '87 2.3T and the '88 Ranger 2.9 the same part number?

Go to the Autozone site and do a part number check. shady

Huh. Didn't think of them. Tryed a couple of other sites and got nothing.
Here's another thought. The gauge came out of an '88 Ranger 2.9. I have a sender that came off of an '87 TC. The engine in the truck is out of an '88 TC. I assume all of the TC's had gauges. I guess right now the easiest thing to do is go out and hook the wire up and see what happens.

Did the autozone site. They don't even list a temp gauge for '84 to '88.
I went out and hooked the wire up. Ran the truck around a bit. The gauge looks like it's reading right.
