Temp Gauge/Sending Unit...?

Hey,

Quick question, my 90 Ranger 2.9 v6 is for sure heating up. Rad hose gets hot etc and replaced thermostat..

However my Gauge doesnt read the temp it remains on cold..

Where is the sender unit, can it be replaced easy enough, or is this a common problem that is resolved another way....

On my 89 2.9L Ranger, the coolant temperature sender (for gauge) is on the intake manifold on the front driver's side and has one wire. Should be in the same place on a 90.

The coolant temperature sensing unit (tells the computer how hot the engine is) is on the front passenger side of the intake manifold and has 2 wires.

i would just get a nice set of sunpro gauges and add em. my stockgauges, (i know 1st gen lol) stuck in the cold position, while my motor heated up to the point of pinging really badly. and i always had to flick em, and they still didnt read accurate. thats just my $0.02

It is the same on the 90 with the 2.9.
My temp sender didnt work when I got my truck, $10 sender and it was all good.
