Temp gauge removal

I want to replace my electric temp gauge with a mechanical gauge will this have any side effect with the computer?

don't mind me Im just here to rape and pillage
 
There are two sensors, one for the ECU and one for the Cluster. You can replace the Cluster one without causing issues.
