Tell me what I should know

something CAUSED the alignment to be off. check the ball joints for slop...could also have saggy springs.

the door thing is probably normal (cant think of any way it could malfunction in such a way :dntknw:).

i know aftermarket power locks will do that, but ive never been in a ranger with power locks in person! but my wifes '96 explorer doesnt do that, i would think they would have the same type system?????

It is the XL version of the truck, manual windows and locks, so I almost bet he added power locks. I guess I should have spent more time checking it out, but I plan to go back when the owner is there.

He seemed like a really down to earth guy.

That part means nothing. Neglect is better that buying something with a fart pipe or crappy lift that was beat on. Make your decision on the expensive parts.

I am actually excited, it is a clean slate. A little TLC it will be a great truck.

It makes me feel good knowing I am getting something for cheap and putting my own labor into it and saving TONS of money on a monthly payment.

:icon_idea:not to mention saving gas money.... i can believe nobody said that yet!!! usually there are a thousand penny pinchers waiting to say that! ;missingteeth;

Well I think no one mentioned it because that is pretty much the reason I'm selling it.

Other than the fact I am paying a lot a month for a vehicle I never drive.

There will come a time in my life I will get the one I want. Up until about 6 months ago I was still wanting to trade that in on a Diesel. So, even up until then I wasn't 100% happy. I like driving it, but it makes me angry to see how much gas it uses.

Not to mention the fact, I T-boned a Ford Taurus Wagon at 50 miles an hour and all it did was break all 3 of the bolts holding my grille guard on one side. It saved my ass that night.

so does this mean the b2 is going to be hitting the trails soon? just kidding. hey you mite want to come down the friday before donnies wedding to hang out or wheel with us if we go (you can ride with me or bring the ATV).

I am still waiting to hear if the buyer for my Super Duty can get a loan.

I am also still actively searching craigslist for a cheaper ranger. The cheaper the better. I found this one.

http://columbus.craigslist.org/car/670883648.html

1995 Ranger XLT Ext Cab, 4.0L Automatic. Says it will need tires soon, and maybe wheel bearings.

His dad owned it since new, but gave it to him in exchange for some work he did.

Only problem is it has 188K.

The 4WD problem shouldn't take more than a few hours to fix.

idk. the 4wd thing could get expensive and pita, depending what it is. i liked the other one a little better. plus, they call the green one a work truck, so you know its been used/abused.

I saw the grey one. It has body damage.

The 4WD is either the t-case or the axle.

I've swapped out an electric t-case for a manual in my B2, and I've changed axles also.

I doubt there is much I couldn't get working for cheap.

He also says it has the automatic hubs, chances are they are the culprit.

true. it doesnt look that bad. i would try to find out what it is before i bought it though. and are you going to drive your f250 while fixing the new ranger?

oh, i forgot, that pic looks really old, especially since theyve had the truck for a long time. i have never seen one of those wheels not rusted.

The f-250 is on it's way out. I am not buying a Ranger until it is gone. Then I will continue to drive the B2 while I am getting the ranger to my standards.
