Tanny swap manual to auto

Hello
I was given a couple of ford rangers. Ones a 1991 xlt 4x4 4.0l manual with front end damage. The other is a 1990 xlt 2wd 4.0l auto perfect shape engine no good.
Can I swap the engine out of the 1991 manual and put it into the 1990 auto ?

how bad is the front end damage? why not use parts from the 2wd to fix the 4wd and then you have a 4x4 with a good engine. unless your wanting the 2wd.

bell housing bolt pattern is the same. search the threads here as it's been done more than a few times by other members of trs. also, check out the tech library here on trs. it's a wealth of info:

Tried to post last night. Broken link It said.
4wd truck needs the front clip and more. Frame might be toast. One front wheel turns freely the other won't.
