stock tailpipe

I just been readin' thru all the threads 'bout exhaust, side exits, mandrel bent, etc. Talked to a guy at my local muffler shop, he said if I wanted a Flowmaster, he could just put the stock tailpipe on it. Is that the way to go? Don't really want to do the side exit, cuz I got nice alloys... :dntknw:

This is the way to go. single in let dual outlet muffler. It's a deltaflow flowmaster 40 series all 2.5"

I personally like my side exit over a tail pipe. But anyways, just have them bend you a 2 1/2" tailpipe, In my experience the larger tailpipe sounds a lot better than the stock 2".

hey, thanks for your answers. I thought this thread had died. I like that dual exhuast, but does your spare tire still fit?
Sounds like the 2.5" is the way to go, I hear the problem with side exhuasts that exit in front of the tire is that it'll eat up alloy rims.

i just had midas do my dual exhaust ,they had to go around the spare tire and the reciever hitch . i had them put the heartthrob muffler on with 2 1/2 tails to 3 inch chrome spouts looks cool because they dont come straight out . i will figure out how to put a picture on here maybe even a sound card. paul

Don't mean to hijack, but what are you running for shackles UrbanRedneck?

kindof, I wonder if he's got them pinned in that picture though, cause they should be unfolded with the axle hanging like that.:icon_confused:

na, his suspension doesnt have enough travel with those shocks togo that far, look, there maxed out, if he had no/longer shocks, it would be all the way out

a single exhaust is louder.the dual outlet flowmaster is a lower tone, almost a little too loud for my taste(deer and pigs hear flowmasters unfortunately) but it sounds good.

Don't know if my spare fits or not, I never tried to put it up, I just took the whole assembly off. It's better off in the bed.
Those are Teraflex Revolver shackles for an XJ. It's a love hate relationship. I wouldn't really recommend them though. Also the pic was taken before I got longer shocks, they still have 4" of droop left in them in the pic

hey thanks for all the replies
