tailgates

What year tailgates fit a 91 ranger if any besides 89-92? mine is crap and only will come completely off if you pull up on the side that does have the round part.. it has to come completely off every time.. the cables seem to be seized and such...plus its rusty at the bottom... if this one is fixable how and what is the source to get parts to fix it?

The 83-92 tailgates are exactly the same with the exception of trim. The body lines will match up perfectly. The later tailgates will fit but do not match body lines.

LMC lists the whole tailgate on the above page for $120...I'd go with that if they are still available...patching would probably work out as more expensive...

Wow! Questions answered before I could ask them! Thanks! I've got a '91 with a rumpled tailgate, and I just saw an immaculate tailgate (right color, too!) on an '88 at the wrecker on the weekend. Now, if I can just get back there before someone else nabs it...
