Hey folks,
I went to the local Pick-n-Pull yesterday looking for a tailgate. Mine is a little banged up but serviceable. I wanted a straighter one for my new/use camper shell.
Well, naturally the small pickup section is waaaay in the fricking back. Found my tailgate, walked it back to the checkout stand in my work cloths (nice cloths) and got quoted a price... $73. Really? I pretty much dropped it right there and mumbled to the guy that is almost what a new one costs.
I think he said something in spanish to the equivalent to "good luck with that white boy".
Am I off here? Seems pretty pricey especially when you consider it has about 20 holes in it from the plastic spacers that held the cheesy metal piece on the back (looks soooo much better with classic FORD letters).
Kept the old one, camper shell works just fine
