Tailgate decals.

Where can I find replacement Ford decals for my 1988 Ranger.

The FORD letters across the tailgate? I think LMC has them

Also there are companys who have tailgates and all kinds of parts for a body to swap out

I've seen the letter kits on eBay; not sure if LMC has them.

Or, you can paint the tailgate letters. Hobby Lobby has 1/8" vinyl masking tape. I outlined the letters, finished masking that out with regular masking tape, primed, then used dark silver spray-can wheel paint for my letters.

I think the original F O R D letters were painted, not decals.

...and what year did they switch from the standard "FORD" to that silver panel with the blue oval decal at the bottom corner? I've seen 1st gen Rangers with either configuration.

I think it depended on year and package. My 1990 XLT has the silver aluminum panel you spoke of.
