i am having an issue with my 90 bronco 2's rear lights. the brake and tail lights work fine until i use a turn signal. if i use the right turn signal then afterwards the left brake light doesnt work. then if i use the left turn signal that brake light begins to work but the right brake light stops working. the only way to get both brake lights working again is to hit the emergency flashers. does anyone have any idea what it could be? i was thinking the turn signal switch?

Not sure if your problem is the same, but when I had an issue with the left brake light on mine being intermittent (always worked fine with the blinker), it turned out to be the turn signal circuit of the multifunction switch on the steering column. Certainly it would be something to check.

sounds like the multifunction switch, aka turn signal switch

i see this all the time

If the turn signal and four way switches are integrated into one unit I would agree with your diagnosis.

yep. the brake light circuits have to run through the turn signal switch.

ok, anybody got a good one they wanna sell?
