My left hand tail light is brighter than the right and the blinker will not blink to the left. The right side works fine. I changed the bulb but it did not help.
Any thoughts? 1989 Ranger.

Thanks Mike

Check for loose wiring. See if there is a change while wiggling the wires. Is the connector/terminal corroded?

see if you got the right bulb in there and installed right

I would have to say, take out the trust volt meter and see if there is a change in voltage in any of the wires when your turn signal is on.
And you should also check to see if the voltage is the same on both sides. If there is alot of resistance in one side, that would be why that light isn't brighter.

Here is some more info. The RH side blinks fine front and rear. The left hand side burns steady front and rear. They both blink when the flashers are on.

Also with the LH bulb out it will not blink on the front to the left. Just a steady light. Are there two flashers one for the RH and one for the LH? I can only find the round blue one in the fuse box.

Someone posted the blinker fluid is low and you need to add some "Light" oil to it. :)
I took the new bulb out and put it back it 12 times and it started working. Maybe it was a contact problem in the plug?? I hope it stays fixed.
Thanks for the help.
Mike

FYI, 1 flasher for the turn signals, 1 flasher for 4 ways. Greg

If a turn signal is burnt out, that side won't blink when that direction of signal is being used. So, say your right front turn signal bulb burns out, when you hit your right turn signals, it will not blink, the one that isn't burnt out, and your dash light, will just stay iluminated. Replace the bad bulb and they will both flash again.
A bulb burnt out will not effect the other side or the flashers. So, say you right front bulb is out, your left signals will still work just fine.

I figured all that out when I had my two of my turn signals and headlights out one time.
