I merked my tailgate last night removing a D60 from it , bent it in half. Shoulda took it off but Forgot and the axle weighed to much for it.

I wanted to do a folding Tire Carrier/Bed Extender. But im afraid one day Ill want to put a dirt bike or something large per say in the long bed and it will not fit with this setup.

Anyone ever done anything custom to their tail gate tire carrier or not thats just unique?

I made a sliding tube tailgate.

and a giant D60 would fall out of there HOW again?

well if that's the case... buy a junkyard tailgate.
tailgates work the best for carrying crap

I've always had to idea of one of these, set up to go on either way (tire in or tire out). That way I could keep the tire "inside" the bed most of the time or turn it around and still have a full length bed.:

I love those things...

Here is what I did. It's all custom, made out of 3/16th plate and 1.5in dom.

Years back on one of my older Rangers I bought a BII spare tire carrier new from JC Whitney and mounted it to the bed. It looked really good and it was mounted very well. It also gave me access to the tailgate when you swung it out and it had the hold down latch to keep the carrier locked in place so it would not move around on you when you were putting stuff in the bed. I have searched for photos of it and I cannot find any except when I took a photo of me drilling the starting holes to mount the plates that came with the kit.
