that recall affects the full size trucks also, my parents excursion got a recall notice for it. and as far as toyota goes, at least they have the balls to recall all their vehicles and make it right and safe again. im not a yota fan by any means but it says a lot for them to take care of the problems they are having like they are.

Are you joking me? Toyota recall the problem? They've known for over a year about NUMEROUS problems with their vehicles. You call that responsibility to not notify them until AFTER people are dying? What kind of heartless asshole are you? Ford is doing no worse then Toyota. Toyota will pay the people off to leave them alone, just like Ford did. Each car manufacturer has their reality check from time to time, and this is a big one for Toyota. It's ridiculous to think they just ignored all the complaints and accident related manufacturing defects. They figured they could ride this one out, but not any longer. Now they have a recall on just about all of their vehicles. I like Toyota over honda or dodge anyday, but I'll be damned this is stupid.

A good start. In looking at failures and vehicles sold they arrive at a ratio. The more they sell, the more failures needed to establish a pattern.

This is the reason many vehicles don't get recalled. Imagine if you have 300 Rangers with defective hub assemblies. This may get recalled. If you had the same 300 failures on the F-150, it likely wouldn't. That same 300 failures is nothing to the 100k plus F-150's sold each year.

Toyota voluntarily recalls vehicles. Ford, GM, and Chrysler have to be forced into it, period. I just scrapped a 99 Chrysler Town and country because of rusty strut towers, towers that Chrysler dropped the ball on. if it had been a Tacoma or a Tundra pick up then Toyota would have made good on it.... you know what chrysler did? Engineered a fix that is a patch at best an charged the customer $700 a tower to implement said fix.... and this is only 1 example of how the "Big 3" treat us.








Toyota was top in quality until they started building cars here ..... just goes to show that even a good car like toyota can be killed by Americans.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know what the official standpoint was/is on F-150's spitting spark plugs? My stepdad just had one shoot out of his truck this evening and I am wondering if Ford is standing by the product or is he is on the hook for the cash.
