I have a 89 4x4 2.9. My tach varies at times about 1K and lasts for 4-5 minutes before going back to normal. It does this every 20 to 30 minutes and happens when the engine is warm or cold., or sometimes only once and hour. Will this cause any problems with the engine computer getting bad speed signals causing engine fuel delivery problems?
