Ok fellas.. I am new to the ranger scene, but not to fords and especially not mustangs. I am going to swap my 4 cly mustang t5 in behind the 2.3 in my 1994 Ford Ranger in the near future. (I ran the 5sp that is in it now out of trans fluid and she's making horrible noises any where from 0-85mph.)
What all do i need to do the swap?
I have a t5 out of a 4 cyl mustang, and i have the whole clutch set up out of the mustang as well (brand new clutch and resurfaced flywheel).
I have a turbocoupe hyd bell housing on the way to work with the slave cylinder setup.
I am told that some of the holes in the 2.3 turbocoupe bell wont line up with the 2.3? I have no idea why that would be, but we will see.
I am also told that i need to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter to fit. I have a 'bench' seat that i assume will have to come out in order to throw the shifter in where the 'armrest' sits. What is the best method for covering the hole for the stock shifter? What works best for cutting the new hole for the t5 shifter?
I know that i need to find a clutch hose/cable/line and a slave cylinder before i can do the swap, but what else will i need? I know that there will have to be some cross member modification, so what is the easiest way to go about doing that?
Thanks for your help fellas.
