I want to know if the rear output shaft is the same on a bw1350 and a bw1354.
I wanna use the larger flange from a 1354 on my 1350 manual thats in my truck.
Thanks
Nick

Rear shaft is same. :icon_thumby:

Let me guess you want to use the large diameter flange on a later one-piece driveshaft?

Yeah, it bolts right on.

Thats kinda what i have in mind. I have a custom one piece shaft that tom woods made for me. I plan on putting the 8.8 that i have from my explorer in my ranger and would like to use the larger flanges. So I can actually use a torque wrench on the bolts instead of a box wrench and a cheater pipe.
They used larger u-joints but had flanges that bolted to my stock stuff. Theres no room in front of the bolts for a socket. While i have the tranny out, i wanted to change the flange.

That is pretty nice. I was using a 1/2" drive 12mm 12pt socket that I got from sears.
I've cracked one or two 3/8" drive sockets.
The stupid little box wrench that I've been using has lasted surprisingly well. But i can't get a torque wrench on it, so it makes me a lil worried.

I swapped my '93-ish 13-54 to the larger flange for the same reason, wrench clearance.... but also because it left me with another small flange yoke half
for making up driveshafts for others to retrofit into earlier trucks.

But I'm running a factory one piece (aluminum) shaft.

I was worried about clearance or "dinging" it but since I've recently aquired another aluminum spare, I have better things to worry about.
